The Mine Sweeper was released in 1988 as part of the vintage G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Motorized Action Pack series. Like the other Action Packs, it was a compact accessory designed to add extra play and display options to the 3¾-inch G.I. Joe battlefield.

One of six 1988 Motorized Action Packs
The Mine Sweeper was released alongside the Double Machine Gun, Mortar Launcher, Twin Missile Radar, Cobra Machine Gun Nest and Dreadnok Battle Axe. All six used a wind-up motor system.
